Even though New York Fashion Week isn’t in view until September, New York is still the hub of all things fashion stateside, thru out the year there are thousands of different fashion shows and events popping up all around the city.
For the past few months aside from writing here for B4moda I’ve also been working closely with The Set NYC, a PR company in Manhattan that hosts an array of events ranging from comedy to fashion. This past Thursday we hosted Fashion’s Night Out, a fashion show benefit that was linked with the non-profit organization Freedom Ladder, helping to raise money, bring awareness and prevention of child trafficking. The scene was live with a fashion show, numerous retail vendors and a raffle in conjunction with Freedom Ladder.
The designer lineup consisted of 3 acclaimed designers, Reverie New York, Alex Vinash and Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva, each collection traipsed the runway giving a large visually stimulating vibration.
Reverie New York dove to underwater depths for inspiration with sheer tulle fabrics in both black polka dot and electric limes and cerulean.
Alex Vinash served an Asiatic cultural blend of vibrations, the Hindu soundtrack played, Japanese inspired garments flowed down the runway in lavishly colored Chinese floras.
Nancy Sinatra, Janis Joplin a little Jimi Hendrix set the tone for Irina Shabayeva’s Resort Collection. She mingled the sounds with dream catcher hair accessories, animal print fabrics along with fringe and sequins, capturing the soul of a gypsy and the heart of a hippie.
