So let’s get the basic introductions out if the way – my name is Lauren Taylor, I’m a fashion blogger and I live in the city of London.
Fashion has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I could talk my favourite activity to do was to go shopping, for more purchases to add to my ever-growing wardrobe of clothes, that I didn’t really need.
I remember as a child admiring the gorgeous clothes on the mannequins in shop windows and dreaming that I would one day create the clothes that would go on them. For my tenth birthday I received a computer and the first think I done on it was start creating my very own fashion magazine called ‘Fashion Forward’ (which I think I may still have saved on a memory stick somewhere). Despite not having a clue what ‘blogging’ was back then I think it was my first taste of fashion blogging, and I did really enjoy it – just as I do now.
For at least four years now I have been reading and watching fashion and lifestyle blogs and YouTube channels such as the infamous Lauren Conrad, Meghan Rienk, Zoella and Essie Button, but I think it was on the discovery of a fashion blog called Idle Lane that I got inspired to start blogging myself. I fell in love with her style, the way she wrote and one day I literally just thought to myself ‘I reckon I could do that myself’ and so I did. I’m so glad I decided to create my blog as I get so much pleasure from it. It is the perfect place for me to write about something I love and feel so passionate about. I find my blog the perfect creative outlet and stress reliever.
I don’t think that I have ever had just one fashion icon at the moment I would say I am in love with Keira Knightley’s style; I think she always has the perfect modern yet timeless look. However if I’m perfectly honest with you I get my main fashion inspiration from TV shows, films, and the theatre which are all other passions of mine along with fashion. I am one of those people who get ridiculously attached to fictional characters and if I find myself loving a character I also find myself loving their style. My most favourite TV character’s style is Jenny Humphrey’s from Gossip Girl – I think it is so daring and I love it but I just don’t think I will be able to pull off her look myself.
